L.U.C. Chopard Classic Weekend Rally / 2013

Tomorrow, on 2 June, IB Translations racing team represented by Konstantin Golota (driver) and Pavel Ezhov (co-driver) will take part in its first ever annual classic rally. We invite everyone to support us!

Regulated by the stringent Sports Code of the Russian Automobile Federation, the rally is going to be a real challenge — just read the rules to see for yourself!

Our team will drive ZAZ-965A V4 887 Pumpkin Special LE decked out in the corporate colours of IB Translations. It was made by the Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant (ZAZ) in 1967 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. Our engineers have worked hard to prepare the car for the race, and it’s now ready to hit the road. Our Zaporozhets’ air-cooled MeMZ-966A carbureted engine assembled at the Melitopol Engine Plant can produce up to 30 hp and more when accelerating downhill. The vehicle also boasts some of the most advanced features, including a rear engine to ensure ideal weight distribution like in Formula One cars (street-legal Porsche and Ferrari are designed in the same way), hydraulic brakes, ignition coil, and turn signals.

First held in 2003, L.U.C. Chopard Classic Weekend Rally is a one-of-its-kind race for oldtimers manufactured before 1970. Each year this exciting and highly competitive event brings together the true fans of technical complexity and auto racing. This race will see the teams compete for the eleventh time.

Traditionally, they start from Tretyakovsky Drive and, after passing a number of control points and completing a variety of tasks, finish at Barvikha Luxury Village. After counting the results, referees announce the winners.

The opening ceremony will take place at 12:30 pm this Sunday, 2 June, at Tretyakovsky Drive, Ploshchad Revolyutsii metro station (http://maps.yandex.ru/-/CVVzUC4B). From there the teams will start one after another at a one-minute interval and finish between 4:00 and 5:00 pm in Barvikha Luxury Village, Rublyovo-Uspenskoye Highway, 8 km (http://maps.yandex.ru/-/CVVzUGI6, http://blv.ru/contacts/). The award ceremony and a private (alas!) after party will take place after 8:00 pm.

Everyone is welcome at the opening and closing ceremonies. For live updates and, hopefully, videos visit our Twitter page @golota82 (http://twitter.com/golota82).

Forward towards the victory of communism!
